What do we know about Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is a skin disorder in which skin cells which produce the pigment melanin (the pigment that determines the color of the skin, hair, and eyes) are destroyed, it results in white patches of irregular shapes on the skin.

Who are at risk of Vitiligo?

It is common in people of age group 10-30 years or noticeable in people with darker skin. It is seen rarely in infancy and old age.

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease but it can also pass on to children if anyone of parents affected from it.
